About Us

More Than a Store, A Wellness Partner for Life!

Our Story

From a Single Store to a Wellness Community

What began in 1999 as a humble supplement shop in Hanover, MA, has blossomed into five thriving locations across the East Coast. Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe was born from a simple idea: that everyone deserves access to expert-guided, science-backed nutrition without the confusion. Today, we’re proud to be a second home for thousands of health-conscious families, athletes, and wellness seekers.

Meet Dr. Ed Martin

From Wall Street to Wellness Advocate

Dr. Ed Martin has taken a unique path to being the owner and operator of Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe, but it couldn’t have been more clear that this level of public service is where he would end up. His love for his field was evident early, a 7 th grade science project on the endocrine system of glands and hormones.

While Dr. Ed had received his undergrad and MBA degrees in finance and global business management. In 1999, he left a Wall Street position to become a successful GNC franchisee. Years later, he chose to further his education by completing his Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition. But instead of working in private settings, it was always apparent that there was a need for providing a high level of expertise for individuals walking into retail stores, places where they were often left to fend for themselves without sufficient guidance.

After years of being a small business consultant and being on a teaching team at Boston University, he franchised a Vitamin Shoppe location, which was rebranded to Dr. Ed’s Nutrition Shoppe. The goal was to merge his teaching skills, his education, and his knowledge to provide a level of integrative health awareness that is unmatched in the retail supplement business.
